Welcome to the Division of Angiology/Haemostaseology at the University Hospital Frankfurt, Germany
Angiology is the area of internal medicine which deals with vascular disease. This encompasses diseases of the arteries, veins and lymph vessels.
Haemostaseology is a special interdisciplinary area dealing with coagulation disorders. Depending on the type of clotting disorder, a tendency either to arterial or venous thrombosis, or a tendency to haemorrhage can exist.
The focal point of our daily work is the diagnosis and treatment of
- Peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD)
- acral arterial circulatory disorders
- primary and secondary vasculitis
- functional perfusion disorders and micro-circulation disorders
- venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism
- thrombophilia clotting disorders (including antiphospholipid syndrome, protein C-, protein-S-, antithrombin deficiency)
- heparin-induced thrombocytopenia
- arteriovenous malformation
- lymph vessel disease
